Understanding the terminology of the printer helps you to search for, select and printers to work better and effectively. One of these important terms of the printer is representing DPI dots per inch. Is a quantity used to define the image resolution of the printer. The higher the DPI, the greater the detail with which the image is displayed. The term used to measure the printing speed is known as PPM. The PPM represents pages per minute and defines the number of pages printed by a machine in a minute. Another important term used to define the operation of a printer is bit depth. Defines the number of various shades of color associated with a point. A bit depth of 1 means 2 colors, a depth of 8 implies 256 colors and 24 means 16.7 million colors. Color balance is a term used to describe the quality of printing. It is a measure of a color cast in the image. The duty cycle is the number of printed pages a printer can produce while a output.AIO and represent an MFP and printer all in one multi-function respectively. These terms refer to machines that are a combination of printer, copier and scanner. Terminology of the inkjet printer is defining CMYK colors inkjet. In CMYK stands for cyan, and C stands for yellow, magenta and M representing K represents black. A term used as an alternative to the printer is brand cartridges or ink printers OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.Different terms used to explain types of printing are two-sided printing, 4×6 print, printing 6 ink, printing ink printing ink 7 and 8.
