A printer is a piece of equipment or an appliance that must be connected to a computer that permits users to print text and graphics on the plain papers. It is one of the most vital pieces hardware whether it is for a massive conglomerate company or solely for personal use. Due to the size of the market there is invariably a huge amount of printers to choose from. Not only do you have printer manufacturers to think about but also the type of printer. There are many different models of printers available in the market and LED printers such as the B4600 OKI Printer is one of them. OKI LED printers offer the most advanced printing technology and are more competent mechanically than predictable laser printers. Depending on design, these types of printers can have faster rates of print than some laser-based designs, and are generally cheaper to assemble. Unlike laser printers, the LED printhead is solid-state and has no moving parts. Short for light emitting diode printer, they were developed by Casio and are the printers capable of printing at the same or close to the same quality as most laser printers do. Working process of these printers is much like laser printers but develop a light emitting diode panel that recreates the representation on an unconstructively charged drum. The areas where the light hits the drum become less charged, which attracts toner. The printer then transfers the toner from drum to the paper and applies concentrated heat to fuse the toner to the paper. It is a small area light source, often with optics added to the chip to figure its radiation model and assist in manifestation. Colours of the emitted light depend on the work and condition of the semi conducting material used. The productivity of these LED printers is superior and using a B4400N mono LED OKI printer for example can see you print well over 1200 dpi which is much more than what laser printers can achieve. You may know generally what an LED is but what role does it play in printing? Light Emitting Diode uses a light-emitting diode assortment as a light source in the print head. The technology bar pulse-flashes across the entire page width and creates the image on the print drum or belt as it moves past. Light-emitting diodes are a semiconductor diode that emits light when an electrical current is applied in the promote direction of the device, which is simple in this technology. These diodes are widely used as indicator lights on electronic devices and gradually more in higher power applications such as flashlights and area lighting. Finding the LED printer is very easy and you can search over the internet as there are numerous websites that are providing the information about them. The best place to start your search is for OKI printers which have the most reasonable prices for printers which do a really good job.

The primary motto of printing is to keep record of important documents in the form of hard copy. The history of printing has started in the 15th century where to print a manuscript, large amount of power consumption was used and operating those bulky printing machines was quite tough. But in this 21st century, with the commencement of advanced printing technology the scenario has completely changed.Fifty years from now did anybody thought about a printer which can print thousand of pages within a single minute? But now it is possible. With the invention of Laser printer this dream becomes true. It is the latest addition in the printing technology. This kind of printer has the full potentiality to produce an exceptionally high quality printing material. As per the name states, Laser printers use laser-based technology to carry out basic printer functions. in these machines actual laser beam is being used to print. The beam produces an image of documents on printer’s photo receptor or metal drum and then creates an electrostatic charge on the drum. This procedure helps to attract the toner to the image that is created by the laser. Then the toner fused to the piece of paper using a heating element and produces a copy of the original document or image. These Xerox Laser printers are much more expensive than the other type of printers, such as ink-jet printers and Dot Matrix printers. But the laser printers offers much more benefits than these printers. The primary one is the printing speed. By using a laser printer, one will experience a exceptionally faster printing. There are few printers which even can print hundred of pages in a single minute. The second most beneficial factor is the quality. By availing a laser printer the uses will be able to opt extremely high quality printing material, that too without any hassles. These printers are also capable to produce more accurate and detailed drawing and copying of text and images without sacrificing any additional ink. In addition, the laser printers also come with very light weight and sleek design by which carrying them and place them in the room is not at all a matter to worry about. As the laser printers are capable to produce an exceptional quality printing service, these come with a comparatively high price then the other type of printers. But with the growing popularity of these printers, manufacturers are now coming with cheap Laser Printers. Though this kind of printer costs relatively low, but these perform as excellent as the normal printers.

The technology used in rapid prototyping printers for producing 3D models is computer assisted design (CAD) software which directs hardware to precise specifications to produce three dimensional models. The efficiency of rapid prototyping to produce models for various companies and allow design changes to be made quickly and easily has found this technology an excellent solution for fulfilling their rapid prototyping needs. As the implications for rapid prototyping printers continue to develop the applications for the manufacturing of products is expanding. If a product is desired by the business they can simply purchase a CAD file upload it and use rapid prototyping printers to reproduce it. With fabrication materials for use in rapid prototyping printers continuing to advance the use of metals, plastics and polymers contributes to the wide application of rapid prototyping printers.

Convenience of Using Rapid Prototyping Printers

Rapid prototyping printers not only make product availability more convenient for companies but for consumers also. The technology once used only by manufacturers is now available for consumer use in their business or at home. Rapid prototyping printers provide an enhanced ability for the production of models and products. If a new brush or comb is desired, rapid prototyping printers can produce one very conveniently. Rapid prototyping printers can be used for a variety of products constructed of numerous kinds of materials. The technology used in rapid prototyping printers is computer assisted design software utilized to build a 3 dimensional model. The model is produced layer by layer until an exact reproduction is produced according to the specifications dictated by the program.

If a small business needs a product or model produced there is no need to maintain workshops with specialized tools or expensive skilled craftspeople as with traditional modeling. Rapid prototyping printers can provide the technology necessary to produce 3D models more conveniently and in shorter periods of time and for less money. In today’s business environment in order for a small business to grow the capability to produce products in a cost efficient manner is crucial for success. Rapid prototyping printers provide the technology for small businesses that are seeking more convenient and cost effective manufacturing options.

Growing Applications for Rapid Prototyping Printers

The computer assisted design applications of rapid prototyping printers are numerous compared to traditional prototyping methods. Traditional methods required the use of large, bulky and sophisticated equipment which also required a major investment for businesses to own. Rapid prototyping printers however are reasonably sized, compact and much less expensive. The set up time and simple operation has made rapid prototyping printers popular for creating models, machine parts and toys. The almost unlimited flexibility and potential applications of rapid prototyping printers to create replicas is a distinct applications advantage of this technology over traditional methods. If a CAD program can be created and suitable materials developed the application of rapid prototyping printers is immense.

Also, unlike some prototyping techniques the rapid prototyping printers produces no toxic chemicals from nor uses any toxic substances during the production process. Due to their safe operation the potential locations for where rapid prototyping printers can be set up and operated increases their application potential. Additional advantages gained from the application of rapid prototyping printers is that post production work is minimized, only the removal of excess materials produced during the production process is necessary.

3D printers have gained favor over traditional prototyping methods due to the ability of cutting the necessary production time by a considerable percentage. This technology has prototypes available for inspection and design testing the same day. The technology used in 3D printers also eliminates the need for extensive post production tooling and the technology also makes it easy to implement custom features. 3D printers are capable of producing prototypes with even the most complex design specifications. The rapid prototype technology used in 3D printers has brought prototyping capability to a completely different level of efficiency. 3D printers also have the capability of reproducing prototypes in metal, giving owners many design options never before available with rapid prototyping techniques. As 3D printers continue to advance capabilities continue to expand.

Production Process of 3D Printers

3D printers reduce the time needed to create prototypes by a considerable amount and can implement design changes in a shorter amount of time. The technology used to operate 3D printers can support post production finishing and is able to accommodate a wide variety of finishing materials. Techniques used with 3D printers are easy to use, cost effective and a time saving method for producing rapid prototypes for a number of applications. The computer assisted design program used in 3D printers builds prototypes layer by layer until a complete reproduction or prototype has been created. The process is automated during most of the production process and depending on the prototype will require little set and finishing.

The installation of 3D printers brings many advantages for the production of prototypes to the companies utilizing them. From design, testing and final production stages the technology of 3D printers has improved the speed, cost, and ease of reproducing models and prototypes. 3D printers using rapid prototype technology streamlines and coordinates the design process necessary to produce 3 dimensional models. Because 3D printers can produce actual models that can be tested by designers and engineers it helps to streamline prototype enhancements. Compared to the technology used by 3D printers, traditional techniques are time consuming, costly and have to be repeated for each step of the design process.

Fabrication Materials for 3D Printers

Advancements in 3D printers allow the production of prototypes in many other types of materials besides plastics. Using polyurethane, polyester or epoxy 3D printers can produce a number of products with a diverse menu of materials. Comparing the production 3D printers and traditional tooling rapid prototype technology is the most cost effective method. With this technology comes the additional advantage of being able to control the number of prototypes produced. With traditional manufacturing, small product orders are more expensive and prices decrease as the number of prototypes increase. But with 3D printers the cost remains low throughout the prototyping process regardless of the number of models produced.

With 3D printers and polyjet technology a number of new materials have been developed in recent years including metals. 3D printers can produce fine quality prototypes which are functional and created in accordance with specific design requirements. 3D printers can manufacture small items in gold, silver and zinc which have applications as replacement parts, jewelry or in new products. The materials being developed for 3D printers continues to expand and with the capability of computer assisted software the application, fabrication and production of prototypes using 3D printers and rapid prototyping technology continues to grow as well. Traditional time consuming and costly prototyping techniques are being replaced by 3D printers and advanced technology because of the capability, convenience and cost efficiency of production.

When the history of the printer business is written HP will hold pride of place. Hewlett Packard has earned world-wide renown for its printers and various other electronic products that have not only made an intrinsic difference to the world of business but also to our daily lives. The Start of HPBefore we tell you about HP printers; it’s important to give you a little bit of information about the beginnings of the company in general. It was in 1939 that Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett started working on an audio oscillator and laid the foundations for HP, in Paolo Alto in California. It was Walt Disney who helped the Company get off to a flyer after he bought several of the oscillators for his animation movie, Fantasia. Getting into the Printer BusinessThere is no great story that needs to be told about the company getting into printers manufacturing. They have been widely credited as the pioneers of inkjet printing and laser printing, but as far as the invention of these printers goes, there is no one single manufacturer or inventor that can be credited with their invention. The company entered into the printers market in the normal course of events in an attempt to satisfying an ever increasing business demand for printers. The Emergence of Their PrintersIt was in 1984 that the first HP printers of the inkjet and laser variety made their entry into the market. These printers were specifically meant for the desktop models. It was in the 90s that the company decided to enter the printer market with a bang and the fact that their computers had become extremely popular meant that the demand for their printers was increasing like never before. The company started marketing their printers for the average consumer and not just for the offices.A Brief TimelineHP started its research in inkjet technology at HP labs, way back in 1978. At that point of time, there were quite a few large, industrial inkjet marking devices that were in use, however, these devices were considered unsuitable for use in the process of document printing. In the year 1984, low priced personal HP printers were introduced in the market known as ThinkJet. It was far superior to other printers in the market at that point of time and offered superior printing quality and that too at affordable rates and printer ink cartridges. This spelt the end for noisy dot-matrix printers. PopularityOver the many years that it has been in the printer business, HP has made a mark for itself with its reliability, quality, and affordability. The ancillary printing supplies associated with HP printers are easily available in the market including cartridges, etc. Moreover, customer support is easily available and thus a person is able to maintain his or her printer in the best possible manner. The HP history of its printers is a journey of success brought through by cutting edge research and development.

Among all of the printers that are available in the market today, the most preferred and purchased type of printer is the liquid inkjet printers. It is used for a number a different purposes from printing out essays to complete brochures and newsletters. It is found in residential homes, business establishments, academic institutions, government offices and non-profit organizations. What is a liquid inkjet printer?Liquid inkjet printers are those that use nozzles to spray miniscule droplets of colored ink from the cartridge onto the paper’s surface. There are two kinds of liquid inkjet printers depending on the printer head used. The first is the fixed-head type. This kind of inkjet printer has a built-in printer head which is designed to last the entire lifespan of the printer. The second type of liquid inkjet printers are those equipped with a disposable head. This means that each time that the ink cartridge needs to be replaced the printer head would need to be replaced as well. This makes this kind of inkjet printer more costly.Common brands of liquid inkjet printersThe most common and most popular liquid inkjet printer brands in the United States today are:Hewlett-Packard Canon Epson Brother Xerox Lexmark Advantages of liquid inkjet printersThey are much quieter than dot matrix printers Liquid inkjet printers are able to print fine quality images similar to that of a photo printer with the ability to print text documents as well, unlike most photo printers Liquid inkjets are able to print documents and images faster because it does not have to warm up Highly cost-effective. Newer models now allow you to purchase ink cartridges by the color. This means that you only need to replace whichever ink cartridge is empty and then use the remaining cartridges. Some liquid inkjet printer cartridges being sold today are designed to be refillable. When a cartridge runs out of ink, you can simply refill the cartridge with inks that are available in most office and school supply stores. These ink refill kits are cheaper than buying completely new liquid inkjet printer cartridges.Disadvantages of liquid inkjet printersThere are a few disadvantages of using liquid inkjet printers as well. The first is that most liquid inkjet printers that are now out in the market today are equipped with very fine nozzles that are prone to clogging. Although these printers come with the capability to clean the nozzles, this cleaning process uses up a significant amount of ink. Another reason is that liquid inkjet printer use inks that are water-soluble. They are prone to smear, blot and even be damaged when it comes in contact with even just a minute drop of water, completely ruining your printed works.

If you have receipts coming from groceries, boutiques and even restaurants, chances are those receipts are printed using thermal printers. Unlike most printers that would need a toner or ink, thermal printers use heat to transfer the image to the paper. Currently, most of the thermal printers that are available in the market are those that can only print text and images using one color, often black. There are a number of thermal printers now available that can print two colors: black and red. These are called two-color direct thermal printers. These work by applying heat in two different temperatures on the paper to create the change in the color.Aside from receipts, thermal printing technology is also used in most fax machines that are available in the market. It is also used in the medical field for printing ultrasound imaging results. How do Thermal Printers Work?A thermo-sensitive paper is inserted between the thermal head and the rubber roller that would feed the paper through the printer. The thermal printer then sends a current of electricity to the heating resistor located on the thermal head.In effect, there is still some form of ink or coloring just like all types of printer. The difference is that for thermal printers, the ink or coloring is embedded on a special paper designed specifically for thermal printing.Common Thermal Printer BrandsIBM Rimage Wasp Zebra Epson Advantages of Thermal PrintersThermal printers are highly favored by many business establishments for printing of the receipts because they are able to print faster than most other printers. Prior to the introduction of thermal printers, business establishments would print receipts with dot matrix printer. These printers can be quite noisy and annoying for both the user and those within the establishment.Another advantage for using thermal printers is that it is more economical. Unlike most printers where you would need to buy ink cartridges, toners or ribbons, thermal printers do not need to have cartridges to be replaced with paper supplies. You will just need to replace the paper that is used for the printer.Disadvantages of Thermal PrintersOne disadvantage of using a thermal printer is that it can only work with a specialized paper, which can be more expensive than ordinary bond paper that is used by other printers. Furthermore, texts that are printed on thermal papers are not permanent. Over time, the printed text fades. Manufacturers of thermal paper have stated that the average length of time for the printed text to last on a thermal paper is fifty years. This makes thermal printers not a viable choice if you are printing business documents.

Every time we mention the term “ink printers,” we immediately think of inkjet printers that use liquid ink to print text and images onto a sheet of paper. There are actually two kinds of ink printers: liquid printers, which are the most common, and solid ink printers. How do Solid Ink Printers WorkAs the term implies, solid ink printers use sticks of ink instead of liquid ink that is used in inkjet printers and toners for laser printers. The ink sticks are loaded into the printer in the same manner as you would load ink or toner cartridges. These ink sticks are then melted by the printer for the ink to be transferred to the paper. Advantages of Solid Ink PrintersThe advantages of using solid ink printers are as follows:Solid ink printing technology was based on offset printing principles. As such, solid ink printers are able to print out text and images with high-quality and vibrant colors. Once solid ink printers are warmed up to melt the solid ink sticks, printing is extremely fast. Less waste materials are produced by solid ink printers. Since the inks are sold in the form of ink sticks, there is no need for these to be placed inside a cartridge. Ink sticks do not leave any residue in the printer nozzles preventing any form of blockage.Because the ink sticks are manufactured using vegetable oil, they are less prone to smearing and blurring which is the common problem in liquid inkjet printers.Solid ink printers are less sensitive to paper thickness and paper fibers. This would allow you to print on a number of different surfaces including recycled and handmade paper.Disadvantages of Solid Ink PrintersWhile solid ink printers have proven to be a good choice for printing in terms of printing quality and printing speed, these have their own disadvantages:Printers take a very long time to warm up. At times, it would cause a user to wait as long as 15 minutes to wait for the printer to melt the solid ink sticks. This is not a good option for people who would need to print a number of pages at a short period of time. Solid ink printers are highly sensitive to movement because it uses melted ink wax sticks. While the printer is turned on and printing, the user must make sure that it would not be touched or moved even very slightly.Solid ink sticks are made of vegetable oils and have a waxy texture which releases a particular odor while it is being melted.

Toner-based printers are called as such because of the use of toners for printing. Toners are a kind of powder that is made out of either carbon or synthetic polymers. Originally, toner-based printers are only able to print text and images in black and white. It was only recently that colored toners have been manufactured allowing these printers to print text and images in black and white and colored. How do Toner-Based Printers Work?An electrostatic charge is distributed evenly around a light-sensitive device in the printer called a drum. The image or text that is to be printed on the paper or board is then projected on the drum through some form of light source. This light source keeps the static charge on the drum to stay on the drum. Any portion of the drum that is not lighted will loose the electrostatic charge that was distributed when the printer was started. The paper or board is then fed. The toner, being in powder form, is immediately caught on the drum and then transferred onto the paper. There are two kinds of toner-based printers that are available in the market today. The most common is the laser printer. These use laser beams that precisely lights the drum surface during the printing process. Because of this, it is able to produce high quality text and images. The other kind of toner-based printer is the LED printer. The only difference between this kind of printer and a laser printer is the light source. Instead of using laser beams, these printers use LED light to project the image and text onto the light-sensitive drum.Common Brands of Toner-Based PrintersThe most common brands of toner-based printers used today are:Hewlett-Packard Canon Epson Brother LexmarkAdvantages of Toner-Based PrintersOne of the advantages of using toner-based printers is their ability to print on both pages of the paper, allowing many users to cut their paper usage by half. This ability has also lessened the bulkiness of the end printing materials like reports and manuals.Another advantage of toner-based printers is that they are not prone to water damage that is normally experienced by users of liquid inkjet printers.Disadvantages of Toner-Based PrintersMany health experts have stated that using toner-based printers can cause a number of health problems which is not experienced by those that use other kinds of printers. This is because these printers use toners which are made of extremely fine particles. Another disadvantage is the cost. Although these printers are able to provide high quality printed text and images, the initial cost of buying these kinds of printers are higher than other kinds of printers. Even the toner cartridges, especially colored toner cartridges, are more expensive than inkjet cartridges.
